On saturday the 13th of September. Jenna, Emmalee, Bradley, Jill and I met Sarah and Hunter in Tempe. For the past 6 years there has been a memorial for all lost on 9-11. It is a beautiful park and they put a flag up for each life lost on that day. They only are up for a few days so we rushed to see this beautiful memorial. This year each flag had a tag with the name of one of those who were lost, where and their age. There were 2096 flags. It was really a shock to see how many flags there were and that each one represented a life lost. All the families and loved ones whose life was changed forever on that fateful day. Jenna commented on the flags with the stuffed animals sitting at the base of the flag. So we walked over to check them out. They were flags for the children who lost their lives. I guess we never stopped to think that there were children on those planes. I think that Jenna got as much of a shock as I did.
It was such a hot afternoon that we let the kids play in the water park there in the park. Jenna didn't want to get wet at first but it didn't take Emmalee long to get her to play in the water. Hunter didn't want to get wet, we know now why. He wasn't feeling good. He got sick when he got home. Poor kid. But the big kids had a ball with Emmalee.
