End of Summer Pool Party

Jenna wanted to have an End of Summer Pool party. So on Sat. the 20th of Sept she invited some of her new friends to come over for a pool party. She was so nervous. She invited a nice bunch of kids! They had a super time and I really enjoyed meeting all these kids who I've heard so much about. Since Jenna's party she seems to be doing more and more after school and on the weekend with her new friends. It is so great to see her open up and climb out of the shell she was in. The pictures are here: http://s464.photobucket.com/albums/rr2/jodie27_photos/End%20of%20summer%20pool%20party/?albumview=slideshow
There are a lot of pictures so be prepared to sit for a while.
Enjoy.

I am still working on getting a picture of Jenna with her new glasses. She doesn't want to sit still long enough for me snap one. I am working on it.
I guess that is the latest here. Jenna is doing well at school and is loving the weather. She and Bradley, Dakota and Nate were here swimming on saturday. Sunday she spent the day with a girlfriend who lives about 20 min away. She and Kali went to the movies and had fun. Jenna ended up eating dinner at her house and really enjoyed her day with Kali.

Jenna's wave board

Jenna has done a bit of babysitting since she has gotten here. It pays pretty good. With her hard earned cash she bought a waveboard. She is good at it too! She is a bit frustrated with it because it isn't as fast as she'd like it to be. Oh well. Here she is on it.

Healing Fields- 9-11 Memorial

On saturday the 13th of September. Jenna, Emmalee, Bradley, Jill and I met Sarah and Hunter in Tempe. For the past 6 years there has been a memorial for all lost on 9-11. It is a beautiful park and they put a flag up for each life lost on that day. They only are up for a few days so we rushed to see this beautiful memorial. This year each flag had a tag with the name of one of those who were lost, where and their age. There were 2096 flags. It was really a shock to see how many flags there were and that each one represented a life lost. All the families and loved ones whose life was changed forever on that fateful day. Jenna commented on the flags with the stuffed animals sitting at the base of the flag. So we walked over to check them out. They were flags for the children who lost their lives. I guess we never stopped to think that there were children on those planes. I think that Jenna got as much of a shock as I did.

It was such a hot afternoon that we let the kids play in the water park there in the park. Jenna didn't want to get wet at first but it didn't take Emmalee long to get her to play in the water. Hunter didn't want to get wet, we know now why. He wasn't feeling good. He got sick when he got home. Poor kid. But the big kids had a ball with Emmalee.

Playing catch up!!

Labor Day weekend we didn't do anything really special. Just enjoyed the extra day off of work and school. On Saturday afternoon Sarah and Hunter came over to go swimming and to celebrate Hunters birthday. The church down the street was going to do a firework show and Hunter really wanted to watch it with us. It was a firework show that was intended for the 4th of July but due to wind and weather condititons they were unable to do it then. So we all sat in the front drive way and watched the fireworks. Here are some pictures of Emmalee, Jenna and Hunter watching the show.
